The video content of the website will be a short advertisement basically showing the channel, what channel genre it is and what it will contain, it'll do this by having a compliation of programme clips that it'll be airing, a voiceover explaining the channel (or alternatively, the clips are in order and timing that random words form sentences that explain the subject clearly), when it is coming out, channel number and contact information.
By using a video editting software, either sony vegas at home or adobe premiere at school, I'll be able to get clips from the programmes that'll be showing on my channel and compile them together into a quick montage of scenes and audio that'll show an exciting, active and funny view of the channel, indicating it's genre clearly to the audience.
The beginning of the video will begin with a montage of scenes with bored or sad characters within the programmes and sad music in the background, as this is happening a overvoice is asking questions such as "Is TV just not the same anymore" and "Bored of the same old same old" and then the mode changes abruptly introducing the channels title in a angellic way and then after this part having exciting and funny scenes of the programmes to be shown on the channel and then ending with the channels title, when it is coming and what channel number it is.

Website templates
Here are a few website template designs for my website.

There are many different type of website templates such as Illustrations and Cartoons, Two Tone Colour, Photo-Realism, Transparency, Beautiful Typography etc.

Illustrations and cartoon drawings are creative by definition and by incorporating it into the website’s design it gives the website a comical and entertaining view.

Two tone colour, when used well can allow focus on other aspects of the design such as layout and text. More focus can be placed on the content as this style of web design ties in well with a minimalistic design.

Photo-realism is a technique that focuses on familiarity because of the associated realism of the image. It is excellent to use as a background image due to it immersing the viewer in a realistic type of scene.

Transparency is an excellent way to make text more readable. Doing so also preserves the part of the image behind the text so that the full image can still be slightly seen.

Good typography can make the text an entertaining form of art. Good typography could attract the attention of the reader as well as be the information they were looking for.

Website analysis

- Search bar and button panel at the top of the screen, obvious spot to put best search options.
- Attention catching slogans and text, in a colour that stands out to the rest of the text.
“Sky TV - bringing you the TV you love with the UK's widest range of HD channels.”
- Multiple images to make the website look interesting and immersive also shows the genre specifics of sky television (sports, general entertainment, kids etc).
- Offers and advertising for television services shown clearly on the main television site of sky.
- Simple user interface with clear buttons , background is simple.
- Information about the site and “legal stuff” are below at the bottom of the page.
- Logo clear in top left corner.
The sky website shows a large focus on imagery and colours to stand out as a bold and interesting website page that will catch someones attention, the images it shows are full of many different genres of television shows declaring to the person looking at the site that the channel is based on general entertainment with no specific category of programming. also, there is no real colour theme further enforcing the "all rounded" programming of the channel.

- Interesting page background.
- Search bar and buttons at the top of the website again (repeated theme amongst TV websites.
- RSS Feed.
- Movie advertisement next to title, only text in gold, standing out more then any other piece of text.
- Advertisement and competitions.
- List of television shows and times.
- Video on the front page, interesting and use of multimedia.
- Theme colours which are commonly connected to E4 (purple, black and gold).
- Simple, easy to navigate layout.
The E4 page holds imagery but in a smaller and more ordered fashion as to sky, as it does not aim to show as much information on the first screen as possible as opposed to the sky website, the images are a mix between real life and cartoons, indicating that the site is aimed at a younger audience, it's colour theme is purple, black and white, these colours together (especially purple) are not commonly seen as a base colour on websites and gives the site it's own unique look to attract an audiences attention.

- Minimalistic design.
- Black and white, no real colour contrast.
- Large list of categories in a simple and clear manner.
- Small simple directory of different types of programme genres above.
- A-Z search directory.
- The consistency of text size and font remains very similar throughout the page, allowing the images to be the only unique and interesting pieces on the website.
The Channel Four website portays a minimalistic design, it's been made to look very simplistic and easy to use, this kind of website would appeal more to a older audience demographic as an older person may not be as used to using new internet tools and this may cause them to lose interest in the site. there is no real colour theme, as it is a simplistic design, also that for a older audience, colour is sacrificed in order to give the site a formal, proffessional look.
Similarities
- All of the websites share the fact that they have their logos on the top-left corner of the page.
- Each show a variety of images of programmes from their shows.
- Each site has featured programming.
- Each site has at least one extra piece of multimedia e.g. images, videos, videos would be particularly good to add in even if in a minimalist designed website.
- Each website has a set of colours.
- Each site shows it’s selection of television programmes in lists and rows with information available for each of them.
Differences
- The pages have their own unique differences such as the Sky website has an emphasis on imagery to promote it's product and services in a interesting to look at fashion
- Each site has it’s own unique colour theme.
- Each site has it’s own individual layout.
- The overall design types are different.
