Newspaper advert: Design

I decided that the best design type for my newspaper advert would be for it to look simple but quite colourful, primarily to quickly catch the attention of the reader, and as there is not much room for an advert and it's not something people gaze over for long, the information needed isw in clear view.

Ident

I have created an Ident for my channel, Ident is short for Identification, it is the channels own unique symbol and is often seen on the channel and within short clips inbetween shows (Generally right before and after a show), An ident is just essentially a short clip or music that can be conbined with a voiceover, sound effects or used on its own to identify the channel, kind of like media signature. It can be very creative, a good example of an ident would be the BBC1 Ident of the hippos swimming in unison.

The actual clip will have a higher quality and also includes audio, but this is essentially what my channel Ident is.



An extremely useful website which helped me to do this was videocopilot (http://www.videocopilot.net/) it shows tutorials and new ways to use Adobe After Effects. Freesound was also very useful website(http://www.freesound.org/)it has a wide range of easy to find and free to download short audio clips that are perfect for choosing the audio of my Ident.Television channels are required to show an Ident every hour, as it is a visual medium, the Ident may be both audio and visual.

Newspaper advert: finished

With my newspaper advert finished i'll be able to use it to put up into a local newspaper, I have decided the best newspaper for the advertisement would be the metro, as it is located on trains and will be the most probable newspaper where younger people will read it.

Newspaper advertisements are a good and in-expensive way of getting a product known, for the advertisement to be more successful on a national scale, it would have to be seen used in national newspapers

Website so far

My initial thoughts for the website design were to keep it simple and easy for the user to navigate, I decided to create the banner and buttons in a similar theme, consistancy throughout the website is fundamental to making sure that it looks professional, legitimate and trustworthy.

Details of video content for website

The video content of the website will be a short advertisement basically showing the channel, what channel genre it is and what it will contain, it'll do this by having a compliation of programme clips that it'll be airing, a voiceover explaining the channel (or alternatively, the clips are in order and timing that random words form sentences that explain the subject clearly), when it is coming out, channel number and contact information.

By using a video editting software, either sony vegas at home or adobe premiere at school, I'll be able to get clips from the programmes that'll be showing on my channel and compile them together into a quick montage of scenes and audio that'll show an exciting, active and funny view of the channel, indicating it's genre clearly to the audience.

The beginning of the video will begin with a montage of scenes with bored or sad characters within the programmes and sad music in the background, as this is happening a overvoice is asking questions such as "Is TV just not the same anymore" and "Bored of the same old same old" and then the mode changes abruptly introducing the channels title in a angellic way and then after this part having exciting and funny scenes of the programmes to be shown on the channel and then ending with the channels title, when it is coming and what channel number it is.
